The things we do when bored.

According to Palette in the previous entry, I am supposed to be entertaining. I’m not quite sure that’s possible–I’m much more comfortable posting, as I said, quasi-academic screeds and shit talk. However, it is Saturday, and it is raining, which kind of ruins my refinishing furniture plans for today. So, for once, I will try to be entertaining.

You know those “lolcats” things? Like the I CAN HAS CHEEZBURGER site? I know I shouldn’t find them amusing. I really despise internet language. I’m sorry, I am an old fuddy-duddy, relatively speaking. I’m not often fond of “cute.” Still, there’s something about those images that gives me the giggles. So, bored at work, I started doing some of my own. Call it “lolacademics” or something (much love to Alex Cox of Rocketship and World of Awesome fame for fixing the first one for me).

You could also call it “Ed needs a hobby.” Or “Ed should have taken summer courses.” You know, something along those lines.

Back to blogging.

I hope I don’t regret it.

 In all likelihood, this will be a short-term blog.  As I proved with my previous blog, I’m not very good for the long haul.  Or the short haul.  Or even the “posting more than once a week” haul.

 But, it’s summer.  My first year as an M.A. student is over.  I finished my house.  Many other things changed in my life (or, you know, what passes for it).  And, now, I have time to kill. 

And it’ll be a mercy killing, at that.

 So.  No promises for regular updates.  No promises as to content.  I may blog comics.  I may blog books.  Or classic film.  Or hip hop.  Or jazz.  Or interior design.  I may return to my default style of quasi-academic screeds followed by random silliness, starting internerd fights along the way.
